Buckwheat Pasta

Buckwheat Pasta

There’s nothing like a big bowl of pasta especially as the weather gets cooler. Buckwheat pasta is the best gluten free pasta I’ve tried. It holds its shape and tastes nutty and delicious. Buckwheat is from the rhubarb family and isn’t actually considered a grain so this can be a wonderful dish on days where you may need a lighter meal. As we’ve said before we don’t make rules about food so we aren’t against grains or foods with gluten but it’s great to offer alternatives to common foods. We are all about intuitive eating and keeping the internal balance of yin and yang within. Maybe sometimes you need foods of a certain colour for chakra health. It changes daily what your body/mind needs for health, vitality, clarity and nourishment. Listen to your wise self! Perhaps the only thing we say to stay away from is the category of ‘non- foods’ – you know the stuff that doesn’t break down even after a couple of years (over processed, chemical-laden garbage).

Buckwheat pasta spirals can be purchased at any healthfood store. Cook like you would any pasta but I recommend draining it whilst still slightly firm and then toss through your sauce to just cook through (yet still al dente).

We did an olive oil, garlic and chilli based sauce with zucchini, capsicum, mushroom, sun-dried tomatoes and olives.
